DMEP87 – The Foster Alliance “Where All Children and Foster Families Win”

In this Doing More, Erica Cardenas was honored to visit The Foster Alliance, an organization that exists to make it easier for families to open their homes and their hearts to children in foster care, a safe haven “Where Every Child and Foster Parent Wins”! The Foster Alliance is an organization that strives to ensure that every child and parent on their foster journey not only feels supported but also has the chance to thrive, by providing essentials like socks, shoes, and even birthday gifts! Erica also joined Central Arizona Shelter Services as they celebrated the grand opening of The Haven, a brand-new shelter dedicated to supporting unhoused seniors in Phoenix, Arizona. Plus, Erica stopped by the American Red Cross Sound The Alarm, Save a Life Event an event were Cox employees and community leaders supported the American Red Cross Sound The Alarm, Save a Life event. A mission to install 1000 free smoke alarms in the City of Tolleson, Arizona. Erica also had a chance to catch up with Jami Carlson Director of Corporate Relations at The Foster Alliance as they discussed its mission, growth, and success of The Foster Alliance. Also, Erica celebrated at the City of Surprise 9th ninth annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Celebration and Service, an event that benefited the local community through a mobile blood drive, packing food for a local food bank, assembling hygiene kits, and writing letters of encouragement. Erica’s last visit was at the Clark County Foster Services – Holiday Celebration, an event that brought smiles, joy, and holiday cheer to foster children and their families by sharing gifts and creating memorable moments.
